make your space “instagrammable”

Turn your business into a place where people want to be. A place where people want to take pictures and share with their following! People (especially younger people) share EVERYTHING they do these days. They’re always looking for a cool back drop to post a selfie or an aesthetically pleasing space to share with their followers.

Adding a mural wall to your space will not only help bring more customers in, it will help bring awareness to your store when people ultimately share on their social channels. It’s sort of a no-brainer to get free advertising, while elevating your space into a unique & enticing atmosphere!>>

snapchat community geofilters

Ever wonder how snapchat geofilters come to be? With 3 live snapchat filters now, I’m basically a snapchat filter fiend. Snapchat has opened the doors for local artists to submit original artwork geofilters that represent their town or neighborhood. I love using community geofilters because wherever I go, there’s usually a filter that represents that city and it’s unique personality. And it’s even cooler when I get to use a geofilter that I designed myself.>>

Cornhole, anyone?

So my cornhole boards are finally finished… just in time for warmer weather! I began the project back in January when my friends got me a sweet wooden cornhole set for my birthday. The present wasn’t just a cornhole set though, it was a pair of 2×4 blank canvases with endless possibilities and a gift card to A.C. Moore.

I brainstormed with some friends to come up with a cool theme for the boards, to add an extra layer of rivalry to an already super competitive game. We thought about historical rivalries such as Coke vs. Pepsi… or Starbucks vs. Dunkin… or Giants vs. Cowboys… but no friend of mine would be caught dead tossing bean bags on behalf of Dallas. So, I decided to go with Kona Brewing Co, a mellow brand with excellent beers and island vibes.

I first fell in love with their ‘Big Wave” golden ale and then made my way through the rest of their products and unearthed their magical “Longboard Island Lager” as well. It was perfect because my two favorite beers came in  red and blue and so did the bean bags from my set! I love the Hawaiian-based beer company and I’ve always LOVED the artwork on their packaging, so I thought it was the perfect rivalry. Hawaii, Beer, and competitive backyard games… does it get any better than that?

CAN YOU CANDLE THIS??

Last year I made soy candles for everyone. It was a long process but fun, nonetheless. I picked out the scents I wanted on candlescience.com and then illustrated labels to wrap around the candles. I had been saving soup cans for months and spray painted them gold or white, depending on which label they would receive. I ordered wicks and soy wax from amazon and a pot to melt the candle wax in. They came out great, in my opinion, and everyone loved their gifts!>>

Welcome!

My name is Deirdre and I am a graphic designer with an obsessive affinity for DIY projects.

you get a mug! you get a mug! YOU get a mug!

I made mugs for my friends, coworkers and family this holiday season and everyone seemed to really enjoy their gifts! I wanted to find the best way to draw on a mug with marker and make it last, so I obviously took my search to pinterest. I combined the tips I read on multiple blogs and ended up with pretty nice results (hopefully they withstand the test of time).>>
